Arnhem/Schiphol-Oost, 2 December 2009 – The insurance
combination Univé-VGZ-IZA-Trias (UVIT) together with DCE Consultants, an independent
management consultancy, have won the ASL BiSL Silver Award for the “compass for the
effective information manager” (kompas voor de effectieve informatiemanager). By using
this improvement plan, based on the BiSL directive processes, UVIT is able to assist its
information managers in strengthening their advisory roles.

This year, the jury awarded two silver awards and one bronze. UVIT and DCE Consultants
received their Silver Award together at the ASL BiSL Annual Congress on 10 December 2009
in the Spant at Bussum.

One of the award winners will also
receive the main prize: the ASL BiSL Trophy 2009, which is a unique bronze artwork. This

In its report, the jury found the definition of the problem “extremely relevant” and
valued the focus on directive and guiding levels given by BiSL. They were also “positive
about the deliverables shown” and made note of “the usefulness of these practical
instruments”. UVIT and DCE Consultants will make a simplified version of the project
results as “best practice” available via the ASL BiSL Foundation in 2010. In this way,
other organisations can benefit from this practical implementation of the directive
processes of BiSL.
